Noushad GST Consultancy | GST Accountant & Marketing Associate | Oct 2018 – Dec 2021
When I joined Noushad GST Consultancy in 2018, I was introduced to something completely new to me: Tally.
It was the first time I had ever worked with accounting software, and my journey started with a simple but important responsibility—converting physical business records into organized digital data.
What initially looked like data entry eventually became a much deeper learning experience about how businesses operate behind the scenes.
Every day, businesses generated purchase bills, sales invoices, bank statements, and financial records that needed to be properly organized before they could become meaningful information.
My job was to transform those paper documents into accurate business data inside Tally.
Over time, I realized that data is not just numbers stored inside software. Data tells the story of a business.
It reveals how much a business earns, how much it spends, how healthy its cash flow is, and how prepared it is for taxation and compliance requirements.
As my responsibilities grew, I became involved in GST filing activities for more than 180 small businesses. We ensured that GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B returns were submitted within deadlines while maintaining accuracy throughout the process.
I also had opportunities to assist with documentation and data analysis activities related to income tax work for larger clients.
One of the most interesting aspects of this role was working closely with small business owners.
Many businesses did not have computers or digital systems in place. In those situations, we did more than file taxes.
We helped organize their purchase records, sales data, payables, and receivables so they could better understand their own businesses.
This experience taught me that many small businesses do not struggle because they lack customers. They struggle because they lack organized information.
Sometimes, simply presenting accurate data can help business owners make better decisions.
Another important part of my role was client relationship management.
We followed up with clients regularly, collected consultancy fees, answered questions, and ensured they felt satisfied with the services they received.
I learned that good service extends beyond completing a task. It involves building trust and becoming a reliable partner for customers.
I also took on an additional responsibility of finding new clients within assigned areas of Coimbatore. This introduced me to business development and taught me how professional relationships contribute to long-term business growth.
Looking back today, I realize this role quietly built many of the skills that I now use in my Salesforce and automation learning journey.
I was learning data management before I knew the term data quality. I was learning customer relationship management before I knew the term CRM. I was learning process management before I knew the term automation.
Most importantly, I learned that every business runs on accurate data.
Today, when I work with Salesforce, business automation, and AI concepts, I can connect technology to real business scenarios because I have already seen how businesses depend on clean, organized, and reliable information.
This journey taught me a lesson that continues to shape my career today.
Technology does not replace business knowledge. It amplifies it.
And for me, that understanding began with paper bills, spreadsheets, and my very first experience using Tally.
